Hugh and Grace is a mission-driven, better-than-clean wellness company launched out of Los Angeles, California, in May 2021. Hugh and Grace is the first-ever hormone-safe skincare, and I’m so glad a friend recommended it! I’m in love with this simple and safe 4 product line that has replaced more than a dozen of my care products, and I can’t wait to share it with you. Keep reading to hear how Sara and Jen Benson turned their 14-year infertility and surrogacy journey into a vehicle to share and promote hormone health through simple swaps of daily products.
Infertility Struggle Leads to Hormone Awareness
One of Sara Jenson’s doctors told her to avoid sweet potatoes during an IVF treatment because they can affect estrogen levels. Relax, sweet potatoes are still healthy! But, if you’ve done IVF (as we did), you probably ate a pineapple or avoided sweet potatoes if you thought it would help. Sara began to think, If something like sweet potatoes can affect our hormones, what else can? Sara and Ben researched and learned about chemicals that disrupt hormones, AKA Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs). It turns out that a significant source of EDC exposure to humans is the personal care products we put in our bodies. Even “clean” products can contain EDCs in their formulations or packaging.
There is a happy ending to this story. Through surrogacy, Sara and Ben had their children Hugh and Grace. Grateful for their family and armed with knowledge, Sara and Ben worked to create a solution and awareness of hormone health. Hugh and Grace is now the first-ever hormone-safe skincare, and they plan to bring more hormone-safe products to market for us. Since solving a problem isn’t merely putting a product on a shelf, Sara and Ben launched Hugh and Grace in the social selling space with a 3 tier advocate/retail advocate/affiliate model. Product. Awareness. Knowledge. Community. More on that later.
Why Hormone-Safe Products?
I think you will be hearing about hormone health and seeing more hormone-safe products soon. I’m confident that this market will grow exponentially over the coming years. Hugh and Grace is ahead of the tide here. As a gist, every part of your body has a job, and the endocrine system tells it what to do. The endocrine system uses hormones to communicate and send messages. The messengers (hormones) affect growth and development, metabolism, sexual function, reproduction, and mood, to name a few. In other words, hormones affect everything! Suppose your hormones are off, or you put chemicals in your body that can pretend to be hormones (EDCs). In that case, there are potentially undesirable outcomes like cancer, infertility, autism, congenital disabilities, lowered IQ, asthma, obesity, and more.
Here’s the other problem. Remember how I mentioned above that women, on average, put 168 chemicals on their skin daily? The reality is that some, if not many, of those chemicals can potentially disrupt our hormones. You see, there is no FDA standard for clean, meaning that the responsibility to find safe hormone product falls on the consumer. As if we don’t already have enough to do these days. Enter Hugh and Grace.
Rachel Zoe and Tracy Anderson Approved
My concern when starting an all-natural, cleaner-than-clean skincare line was if it would work for my dull, acne-prone, tired-looking skin. I’ve tried so many safe products that do nothing. Not the case with Hugh and Grace. The products work (see my early results below).
And, I’m not the only one who loves these products. Rachel Zoe (hello fashion mogul) and Tracy Anderson (holistic health guru, trainer to Gweneth Paltrow) were both organically drawn to this line. You’ll also see Hugh and Grace in Forbes, PopSugar, Real Self, and Byrdie, to name a few.
Simple Skincare For The Entire Family
Here’s a peek at the products that celebs and busy moms love. It’s simple, only four products to nourish all of your skin:
- Purifying Cleansing Bar-Formulated to cleanse deeply, detox, buff away impurities, and rebalance skin with potent adaptogen extracts. I replaced my facewash, hand soap, body wash, and shave gel with the cleansing bar.
- Protecting Body Oil-Hormone-safe Protecting Body Oil softens, soothes, and hydrates while protecting and strengthening the skin. The protecting body oil has replaced my lotion and our family’s insect repellant.
- Restoring Face Serum-Daytime serum that is lightweight and free of synthetic fragrance and wax. This miracle blend brightens, firms, and helps skin better absorb your moisturizer. I’ve replaced my regular daytime serums and daytime moisturizer with the restoring face serum.
- Renewing Night Serum-Blue Tansy serum delivering immediate moisture, smoothness, and clarity for a luminous and radiant complexion. The renewing night serum has replaced my nighttime serums and night cream.
Who can use Hugh and Grace? Everyone! Because Hugh and Grace is hormone-safe and all-natural, it’s okay to use in children, babies, pregnancy, and breastfeeding. The products are gender-neutral and packaged in TSA-compliant sizes, so there is no need to purchase travel-sized bottles when you fly or wait to release a “men’s line.”
My Hugh and Grace Results-30 days
Here are my results from my first 30 days using Hugh and Grace Skincare. Not pictured and my shiny, soft legs using the protecting body oil! I double cleanse with the purifying cleansing bar for 30 seconds each wash, then follow with the restoring face serum day and night. Before bed, I layer the renewing face serum as my final step. I don’t need any other products because the serums replace moisturizers, eye creams, and lash serums. I still have a long way to go with discoloration and acne scarring that won’t disappear overnight. But, I’ve noticed so much brightness, my skin is smoother, under-eye bags diminished a little (#teamnosleep), and I’m no longer breaking out! Who knew all-natural skincare could work so well? I can’t wait to see the before and after at the 90-day mark.
